Can you tell your companies to stop giving us (UK) black Friday, first time
we’ve ever had it and there’s already been a shopping mob. Please take it
back america, we don’t even have thanks giving what is this?! Oh how
thankful we are that we might get killed under a stampede, such great
“culture” you bless us with. Because you’re so thankful for the roof over
your head yet the next day you’re fighting over crap you don’t need whilst
the homeless freeze to death outside.
It’s really weird how you Americans have a holiday about saying what you’re
thankful for, and then the day directly after that, you go out to buy loads
more stuff, because you’re not entirely satisfied with what you have. Just
seems a bit contradictory to me.
I’m thankful for being born in a part of the world where I don’t really
have to worry about staying alive. I’m also thankful for the word
gnathostome, because of how fun it is to say.
I’m thankful to live in a country and a century when I can have a
non-straight orientation and a somewhat non-binary gender and not have to
worry about being killed/locked up/institutionalised/”treated” for it. I am
also INCREDIBLY THANKFUL TO HANK for making “Human Sexuality is
Complicated”, when he did because it freaking is. Thank you for warning me!
(that was not sarcasm. Seriously. Thank you so much!)
I’m thankful that there are so many alternative meanings of DFTBA. I’m also
thankful to whoever was writing “Twelve Days of Pizzamass”.
I’m thankful for Nerdfighteria, my family, and the chemo that is keeping me
alive.
I think I’m most thankful to still be here, to still be alive over 11 years
after I planned to die. I’m thankful that I’ve made it through the even
harder times and deeper depressions that have occurred since. Because those
years have been the best years of my life, and it would have been a damn
shame to have ended my life before it had a chance to really begin. And
following each dip into deeper, darker times has always come a time of
great joy and happiness.
I’m thankful for family and friends that love me, and the hard-learned
lessons that have allowed me to *see* that, even during those darker times.
There was a point in my life when I couldn’t, or wouldn’t, see the love all
around me, focusing instead entirely on the pain and negative things. I
still sometimes have to work at focusing on the positives, on the love, but
by being open with those who care, it’s become much easier. I’m very
thankful for that.
I’m also thankful for YouTube and Nerdfighteria, which have played a huge
part in those best years of my life. They have provided a number of those
times of great joy and happiness, through a supportive community,
friendships I never would have had without them, and all kinds of events,
gatherings, and such things to inspire me.
Well, now, that’s all been dreadfully serious, so here’s a silly thing I’m
thankful for: milk. I do love drinking milk. It goes with almost
everything. Especially a good peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Mmmmm…okay, that’s my cue to go make myself a sandwich.
Silly: I’m thankful for hedgehogs being adorable.
Serious: I’m thankful for medicine and family and Nerdfighteria and camp
and language allowing me to express how I feel in a way that sounds
beautiful. (Of course not things I write, the things other people write.)
Can you do a video on the Ferguson Riots and Michael Brown case? I’m really
confused and tumblr and the news media really don’t help!

i’m thankful for guns they keep us safe feed us and they are why most of
the world is free today. also i’m thank to finally see Dave.
I am thankful for the opportunity to go to college to learn about things
that interest me and get a degree in something I love.
I am also thankful for candy cane tea because it is amazing and delicious
and warms me to my soul.

being alive as well as internet
Serious: My baby niece who turned a year old this year, and the fact that I
AM GRADUATING COLLEGE IN 2 WEEKS!
Funny: the fact that I do not have 360 degree vision, so I can pretend the
mess in my room does not exist.
I am thankful that despite all of the financial issues my boyfriend and I
are in right now that we still have electric and internet so I can get my
education. I am thankful that my one day Father-In-Law, dispute not knowing
me, allowed his son and I to live with him for six months after coming from
the other side of the country. I am thankful that since before my boyfriend
and I got our own place that that same man has given us money. I am
thankful that despite us owing him over four thousand dollars, he is not
worried about being payed back and still continues to send us money so we
can put food on our table and pay some of our bills.
I’m thankful for you guys and all the young people like you because it
makes me hopeful for the future of the planet. I’m also grateful for Kathy
Dalton’s deviled eggs because they are totally awesome and I can’t make
decent deviled eggs. So just a shout out to my pal Kathy Dalton.
I’m grateful that I will likely live to see the birth of self-aware A.I.
and the robot revolution in my lifetime.
I’m thankful for consciousness and the ability to understand my place in
the universe && also fried chicken. I really like fried chicken.
Serious: I’m thankful for farmers, truck drivers, and food retailers who
contribute greatly to my ability to eat two days’ worth of food in one.
Not so serious: I’m thankful for recreational alcohol, which helps family
gatherings go by more smoothly.
